Telethon is an international charitable campaign that began in the United States and subsequently extended to Europe. The countries in Europe that have adopted and successfully organised Telethons are France, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland, Luxembourg and Cyprus. The Cyprus Telethon is organised by the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics, in collaboration with the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Cyprus the last 15 years. Lanitis Bros has been a supporter of the many fundraising events that take place throughout the year, from the beginning of this charity effort. The aim of Telethon is to increase public awareness on the problems of patients who suffer from neurological and genetic diseases, to support financially the research activities of the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics on neurological and genetic diseases and financially support the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Cyprus.
