Youth development
We support youth development, and our programmes aim to help young people develop self-esteem and leadership skills. In particular, we support young people who are in some way disadvantaged. Some local examples of our long-term support are the Radiomarathon charity events for children with special needs, Telethon for children with neurological and genetic diseases and the Special Olympics
Safe Driving campaign with Cyprus Red Cross

2009 was the second year Lanitis Bros joined forces with the Cyprus Red Cross to raise Safe Driving awareness. Cyprus holds the third position on the European map for fatal road accidents per capita, especially amongst youth. A TV spot was prepared and aired, outdoor, radio, print advertisements and social media were widely used. Under the auspices of the Minister of Internal Affairs and the Cyprus Police, two public events were organised during which, members of the Paraplegic Association shared their shocking experiences and prompted participants to drive wisely and respect life. In 2009, Lanitis Bros signed the European Charter for Road Safety. |

Supporting Telethon

Telethon is an international charitable campaign that began in the United States and subsequently extended to France, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland, Luxembourg and Cyprus. The Cyprus Telethon is organised by the Institute of Neurology and Genetics, in collaboration with the Muscular Dystrophy Association, the last 15 years and we have been supporting the many fundraising events, from the early years. The aim is to increase public awareness on the problems of patients who suffer from neurological and genetic diseases and financially support the local research activities of the Institute of Neurology and Genetics and the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
